A Medal Haul Against the Clock in the Hills

Pilis Cup I – Hill Climb Time Trial, Esztergom

We headed to Esztergom and the Pilis mountains for the opening round of the Pilis Cup, where riders went head-to-head against the clock. Our squad fielded 6 determined riders: Alica Brádlerová in the women's category, alongside Gergő Vörös, Bendegúz Pusztai, Kristóf Bojsza, Ákos Skuba, and Tamás Nagy in the men's field. All six rolling off the start ramp within a compact 30-minute window.

Tactics and Speed: Course Nuances

The parcours demanded calculated pacing from start to finish:

  • Flat Speed and TT Setups: The long flat drag right off the start favored dedicated time trial bikes, allowing riders to tuck in aero and carry pure speed.
  • The Pilis Ascent: Aside from a steep pitch in the final meters, the climb proved relatively gentle and rolling, rewarding riders who could churn big gears at high cadence before emptying the tank on the final kick.
  • Consistent Squad Firepower: Every member of the team paced the effort to perfection, clocking strong split times and lighting up the top of the leaderboard.

Our Results:

  • Alica Brádlerová: 2nd Overall 🥈 | 2nd in Category 🥈
  • Tamás Nagy: 3rd Overall 🥉 | 3rd in Category 🥉
  • Bendegúz Pusztai: 5th Overall | 2nd in Category 🥈
  • Kristóf Bojsza: 8th Overall | 4th in Category (tied on time, separated by fractions of a second)
  • Gergő Vörös: 10th Overall | 6th in Category
  • Ákos Skuba: 40th Overall | 13th in Category
