A Tough Lesson and Invaluable Experience at Trofeo Cinelli

On March 28, we headed to the Czech Republic to test our form against an international peloton at the Trofeo Cinelli. The Czech season opener proved to be a demanding challenge for our squad of 1 female and 3 male riders, bringing both high-caliber competition and harsh, unforgiving weather.

Women: Holding Ground in the International Elite

The morning hours belonged to the women's race, where Alica Bradlerová flew the team flag solo. The primary mission was clear: gain vital experience in a top-tier field:

  • Riding disciplined and sticking to the race plan, Alica held a steady position in the main peloton through the halfway mark.
  • When the pace lifted sharply on the climbs, she eventually settled into the second chasing group.
  • Fighting relentlessly over the remaining distance, she crossed the line with only a minimal gap to the winner, proving her ability to perform under high international pressure.

Men: A Relentless, Unforgiving Pace

The men's race went full gas from kilometer zero. A blistering pace right from the gun paired with strict referee cutoffs quickly tested the squad:

  • Tamás Nagy showed great resilience, surviving longest in the peloton against the brutal tempo.
  • Due to strict time-gap regulations to prevent riders from being lapped, the commissaires pulled Tamás alongside a massive portion of the field in lap 6.
  • While our men didn't record a finish on paper, the tactical takeaways and hard race kilometers will pay dividends for the rest of the season.

Summary

Trofeo Cinelli was exactly what we anticipated: a relentless benchmark showing where we stand relative to the international elite. We head home with our heads held high—it is precisely these grueling days in the saddle that offer the steepest learning curves.
